Katee came today, for the first time.
It took a little preparation on my part the night before -- I thought through what chores I wanted done, how to do them, and prepared essentially a task list for her to follow. Key learnings:
1. People fold clothes in different ways. I don't care how my shirts are folded, but some in my home apparently like their sleeves "folded out". Who knew?
2. She nailed the produce selection. When I said "medium ripe avocados", the woman delivered "medium ripe avocados". Impressive.
3. I take for granted the brands and quantities of stuff I buy at the grocery store. Fortunately, Katee was tuned in enough to text me as she shopped. Did I like Pampers Baby Dry or Pampers Cruisers? (Whichever is cheaper, I texted back.) The store was out of flat iron steak, would I mind flank steak instead? (No! Great idea!)
4. When I came home from the gym, the house was humming and the kitchen was cleaned and stocked. Wowwwwww.
Day One of the Great Butler Experiment, and I'm giddy with ideas for how I'll spend the rest of my Saturday and Sunday, now that I'm off the weekly hamster wheel! So far, so good.
